Insulation is very important in a HVAC system. One use the material to insulate hot and cold air systems, copper tubes in airco systems or to give an acoustic insulation . The most common insulation for air duct work are rolls or plates of glass wool, stone wool or synthetic rubber. Circular ducts can be insulated with a insulating sleeve from glass fibre. In many cases the plenum boxes of the air diffusers are insulated to reduce the noice towards the air terminal.
